Loom

Filigree A delicate ornamental lattice — a grid of thin glowing rounded-diamond outlines that pulse brighter in slow waves rolling across the field, like etched metal lacework catching light. Cell interiors stay near-black; the outlines trace palette colours by position.
Stitch Tiny glowing cross-stitches are planted one cell at a time by a bright needle glint working back and forth across a working band low in the frame. The whole frame is woven aida cloth — warp and weft thread ridges with embossed depth — bare below the needle, stitched above. Each completed row carries a hashed folk-sampler motif tinted from one palette colour; the finished cloth drifts slowly up-frame and dims into the dark, like work receding into memory.
Web A dew-strung orb web seen close and at an angle, the way a macro lens catches it at dawn: faceted capture passes wind out from a single off-centre hub, but the silk is barely there - every thread is a dense string of dew pearls, and a shallow depth of field holds one band in sharp focus while the rest melts into soft glowing bokeh. The foreshortened sheet sags under gravity and the pearls glint awake in a slow chase out from the hub.

Current

Laminar Smooth horizontal streamlines of a steady current gliding past an invisible bluff body. The lines part cleanly around the obstacle and rejoin downstream, crowding bright over its shoulders and opening calm in the far field, never crossing. Luminous packets ride the lines downstream so the flow reads as moving, with a near and far sheet parallaxing for depth — the real flow-past-a-cylinder streamfunction.
Shear Stratified flow in fast and slow lanes. Stacked horizontal bands stream past one another at alternating speeds, and along every boundary the shear rolls the streamlines up into a marching row of cat-eye billows — the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, drawn from the exact Stuart-vortex streamfunction. Straight outer streamlines are the lanes; the curled cores are the billows, turning as adjacent rows drift opposite ways.
Twill A twill weave, the diagonal cloth of denim and gabardine. Warp threads float over two wefts then duck under one, the float shifting a thread each row so the raised segments stack into bright diagonal wales running across the cloth. A combed sheen travels along the diagonal so the ribs catch the light in sequence, threads tinted by their diagonal band. A woven-flow sibling of warp-current — combed into ruled twill rather than free domain-warped fibre.

Strand

Orbweb A frontal orb-weaver web strung across the dark: radial spokes fan from an off-centre hub out to the frame edges, and between them the capture thread winds outward in straight sag-chords that spiral slowly rather than closing into plain rings. Dew beads catch the light and slide along the strands while a soft breeze sways the whole web. The wedges between threads are left open - it reads as wire, never filled cells.

Veil

Gossamer Aurora curtains — soft vertical ribbons of layered FBM noise drifting slowly sideways over a dark sky, with a gentle vertical falloff like northern lights. Translucent, slow, and ethereal, with colours blending smoothly across the palette.

Bloom

Lantern Bioluminescent sea-lanterns — translucent glowing orbs drifting over dark water, each a structured lantern with a bright membrane rim, a shimmering caustic cell-web interior and fine filament ribs radiating from a hot nucleus. Overlaps bloom brighter as they breathe.
Medusa Sea-nettle jellyfish drift down through deep water at staggered depths — each a translucent domed bell marked with radial stripes and a dark scalloped margin, trailing a frilly ruffled column of oral arms and a long curtain of fine tentacles that sway on a slow continuous current. No contraction pulse: the jellies simply sink and trail, looping with no visible reset.
Anemone A bed of sea-anemone organisms filling dark water — each a ring of soft tentacle lobes built from polar petal SDFs, rim-lit with a warm core, breathing open and closed on a long eased cycle with the contraction rippling around the ring while tips sway and spiral. Blooms scatter on a jittered grid at varied sizes, lobe counts, breath phases and palette rotations, overlapping into a dense translucent anemone field.
Wisp Two or three pale teardrop flames wander weightlessly over dark marsh water, their FBM-flickered bodies dragging thin fading filaments that trace the quasi-periodic path each one just travelled. A barely-there mist band breathes along the bottom edge; each flame carries a slightly different cool palette tint and the composite never visibly repeats.
Bubble Sparse thin glassy ring outlines rise through open darkness, growing slightly as they climb and carrying a single brighter highlight arc that suggests curved glass. At a hash-determined height each bubble pops — a quick expanding flash that dissolves into a soft fading glow — before re-seeding below the frame. Only the outlines and pop flashes emit light; interiors stay near-black.

Wake

Foam Rafts of glowing sea-foam bubble rings drift on black water, each ring carrying a single specular highlight; bubbles swell, ride, then pop and collapse inward with a flash and a scatter of sparkles while the rafts shear apart and regather on a slow current loop.
Swash Dozens of thin diagonal streaks of light flow in parallel lanes across the frame like a travelling current, each dash scrolling steadily off one edge while new ones enter the other, lanes drifting at staggered speeds. Palette-graded from a bright head to a dim tail, bold and crisp against the near-black.
Ebb A falling tide leaves a scatter of glowing pools stranded across dark wet sand, each a mirror-bright fill rimmed by a thin meniscus. Over a long cycle the tide retreats and pools drain one by one, until a single luminous up-sweep rolls through and refills them all at once.
Maelstrom One vast log-spiral vortex sits centred just off the lower-right corner, its dye arms barely a step brighter than the near-black ground until they tighten and warm toward a glowing core. The whole spiral rotates rigidly and extremely slowly — a full turn takes one to two minutes — while a subtle FBM shimmer drifts along the arms so it never reads frozen.
Plume A single slender column of dye rises from bottom-center, FBM-textured and glowing warmest at its dense base, cooling as it climbs, widens, and dissipates into the near-black upper frame; a height-increasing cross-current shears it into a smooth bow that sheds faint wisps off its downstream edge.
Curdle A pale drop falls into dark tea: a bright blob blooms at a hashed position, then its crisp boundary is stretched and folded by accumulating curl-noise warp, winding into high-contrast filament tendrils that coil back into themselves before dissolving to ghost threads on near-black. Two drops run on staggered half-cycle phases so the frame is never empty.

Aether

Lull A faint static seascape — dim horizontal bands of dark water layered toward a barely-visible horizon, salted with a few sparse glints, rendered just above the threshold of visibility. Nothing within the scene moves; the entire field rides at anchor in a slow coupled sway-and-heave while a broad brightness tilt rocks across the frame in counterphase, like lamplight shifting across a deck.
Silt A riverbed current along the frame's floor: stretched FBM laminations form fine sediment streaks in the palette's cooler colours, dense at the bottom and thinning to a soft boundary, while sparse bright grains ride the current and catch the light. The upper two thirds stay a calm, faintly tinted near-black that breathes over ~20 seconds.

Abyss

Nebula A Trifid-style emission/reflection nebula — billowing domain-warped gas fills the frame, a warm pink emission region glowing in the lower body and cooling to a blue reflection haze toward the top, woven along a noisy seam. Branching dark dust lanes carve trifurcating channels through the clouds while a dense field of varied stars twinkles behind and through them, with a couple of bright young stars embedded in the gas. Everything billows on slow unbounded drift.
Comet A single comet on a long elliptical orbit inside a dark void: a bright nucleus with a tight coma and an ion tail that always streams anti-sunward, flaring long through the fast perihelion whip and shrinking to a stub on the slow aphelion crawl, with a faint dust trail decaying along the recently travelled arc.
Asterism A still star chart over true black: faint hash stars shimmer slowly while constellations materialise one glowing line-segment at a time, hold for a beat, then dissolve as the next is already being traced elsewhere — a perpetual relay of overlapping pen-drawn figures.
Eclipse A minutes-long lunar eclipse: a softly mottled moon hangs in a near-black starfield while a warm-edged umbral shadow slides across it, smouldering ember-red and graded toward the trailing limb at brief totality before light returns from the opposite limb.

Mosaic

Tessera An irregular wall of dark glass tiles drawn by hairline grout seams, each pane faintly tinted from the palette. The tiling itself is alive: tiles shatter into smaller tesserae and clutches of chips fuse back into broad panes, newborn seams flashing softly as the wall forever re-tessellates itself.
Stain A stained-glass window of large irregular panes, each holding a palette colour pulled down to barely above black behind bright leading. Nothing crosses the glass — panes take turns blooming from within on long overlapping cycles, leaning toward a neighbouring hue at the peak.
Shale Fractured stone plates fill the frame, each shaded as one flat slate facet under a slowly wandering raking light and grained with fine sedimentary bedding laminations that cross every slab like layered rock, while the fissures between them glow ember from below — easing apart and reseating with tectonic patience, brightest where the gaps run widest.
Floe Pack ice seen straight down: pale moonlit plates drift and reseat themselves over channels of black water, while the leads between them breathe open and closed and pulse with faint bioluminescent light, brightest at mid-channel.
Froth A wall of soap-foam cells rising slowly out of the dark: near-black bubbles with thin iridescent membranes whose colour follows the wall angle like an interference film. Cells stretch taller as they climb, and near the top they flash and burst into black before drifting off the frame.

Shoal

Shaft One to three fans of slanted volumetric light beams pour from chosen points around the frame and cross it diagonally — crepuscular rays in bunches, a few soft-edged shafts separated by dark gaps, each blooming and dying on its own slow phase while the fans rock a few degrees over about a minute, like moonlight bent through unseen water.
Dapple Sunlight through a drifting mat of surface foliage: a sparse constellation of discrete, soft-edged elliptical sun-flecks on a near-black seabed, all sharing one projection slant and each tinted by position. A passing swell sways the whole constellation in coherent lockstep while fronds blink individual flecks out and back, and now and then one fleck pinches smoothly into two.
Glint Moonlight on dark open water: a horizon sits in the upper third and anisotropic specular highlights glitter across the whole sea, concentrating into a bright central moonbeam and thinning to scattered sparkle at the flanks. A slow two-swell heave rocks the glints up and down and flickers them asynchronously through zero, so the sea never resets.
Lens Three large invisible lens blobs roam a faint dark field, magnifying and smearing the dim wisps behind them while a hairline palette-tinted rim ignites at each lens edge. Light bends instead of emitting — the subject is distortion itself, sloshing at the pace of shallow water.

Rosette

Whorl A phyllotaxis bloom: two hundred glowing motes placed by the golden-angle spiral form a sunflower seed head drawn in light. Each dot ignites at the centre, brightens through mid-life, and dims away at the rim as the whole population streams outward at a felt-not-seen pace.
Mandala A dense, multi-layered concentric mandala: many nested rings of glowing scalloped petals (alternating N and 2N symmetry per ring) laced together by radial spokes and studded with jewel dots, building an intricate ornament that fills the frame and breathes slowly. The line-work glows and takes graded palette hues by ring.
Facet A cut-crystal jewel: the angle around centre is mirror-folded into N wedges and the folded space is partitioned into hard diamond facets — concentric facet rings of brick-offset wedgelets, each a flat crystal face catching a slowly-turning raking light, with sharp bright cut-lines glinting between them. Most faces sit deep in shadow while a few sparkle, so the gem twinkles as the light wanders, dark toward the corners.
Labyrinth A full-frame orthogonal labyrinth of faintly glowing etched walls on a near-black plan. Wall segments slide along their grid axes on staggered eased schedules, perpetually rewiring the maze's topology, with soft glints blooming as walls dock into junctions.

Strata

Contour A plan-view topographic map of terrain that doesn't exist: thin glowing isolines over a near-black base, every fifth index contour brighter and twice as wide, hue climbing the palette with elevation. The land deforms at geological patience while each line creeps uphill — crawling, pinching, merging and splitting in place.
Isobar A satellite night-pass over a stormy sea: two or three spiral storm systems hang on the near-black chart, each a pinwheel of soft luminous log-spiral rain bands winding into a small dark calm eye, hue blending through the palette by radius. Each pinwheel revolves about its own eye at a stately pace while the systems drift bodily across the chart and breathe — arms brightening and eyes tightening as a storm peaks, relaxing as it decays.
Fathom A bathymetric survey rendered as soundings, not lines: a fixed grid of small glowing depth dots whose size and brightness fall with the water depth beneath them, so the chart reads as a calm stipple field swallowed by one wandering abyssal void and a couple of lesser deeps. Dot hue slides through the palette with depth; the grid never moves while the hidden trench migrates and the deepest dots shimmer.
Flux Two opposite magnetic poles hang in dark space, each a small soft core, and the analytic 2D dipole stream function is contoured into fine luminous field-line arcs sweeping pole to pole. Arcs compress into dense bright bundles where they dive into each core and relax into wide lazy curves at midfield, hue blending through the palette by arc index from the inner bundle outward. The poles orbit their common centre about once every ninety seconds while a slow contour-phase crawl slides each line along its own length — arcs continuously budding at one flank and absorbed at the other.
Karst A Li River nocturne: a rank of rim-lit karst-tower silhouettes stands across the frame and hangs mirrored in dark still water, the reflection dimmer and broken by slow ripple shimmer, a breathing mist band veiling the towers' waists as the whole skyline drifts past at a slow boat's pace.

Burnish

Niello A niello panel read in negative: a black alloy ground stippled edge-to-edge with tiny punch marks that scintillate in palette-tinted sparks, while a burnished strapwork interlace stays perfectly still and unlit — an ornament made of absence, disclosed by where the shimmer is not.
Patina An aged bronze plate in time-lapse: thresholded FBM carves mottled verdigris stains over darker metal, each stain rimmed by a thin line of raw bright bronze where oxide meets polish. Nothing orbits and nothing roams — the patch interiors stay matte and dark while all the light lives at the slowly creeping coastline between corrosion and metal, advancing edges glittering with fresh oxide and retreating ones baring warm bronze glints.
Emboss A deep quilted surface of padded diamond cushions, pulled in at the button points and creased along the seams, lit as a soft satin so every pucker carries a specular bloom. The fabric is iridescent shot silk - hue shifts across the curve of each cushion and the highlights flash a complementary colour - sweeping slowly across the whole frame. All relief and colour, no flat grid.
Rosace A rose-engine guilloché: two families of concentric rosette curves, their petal lobes precessing with radius into a spirograph weave, engraved as fine bright hairlines into a dark burnished-metal ground. Where the families cross they interleave into the dense barleycorn moiré guilloché is prized for, the crests catching a rolling specular glint. The whole rose turns slowly on its lathe while the lobe phases drift, so the engraving shimmers and breathes without ever freezing — the engine still cutting.

Filament

Reed A palisade of upright glowing tubes filling the frame edge to edge, like an LED light strip stood on end or an equalizer at rest. Each reed carries its own palette hue and a bright pulse of charge rises continuously up its length over a softly lit ground.

Noir

Rivulet A near-black pane in front of a softly blurred field of city colour; a handful of meandering water trails descend in hash-assigned columns, each crowned by a bright refractive bead that acts as a moving lens onto the smeared neon behind the glass.
Bokeh A city seen through a fast lens at night: three depth layers of out-of-focus heptagonal light discs drift sideways with parallax and blink like distant signage, each tinted a palette hue and rimmed with the bright iris of a defocused camera.
Puddle Dark wet asphalt carved by puddle patches that hold wobbling vertical smears of unseen neon — columns of palette colour stretched downward by a domain-warped reflection. The smears wobble slowly as the warp drifts, and hash-timed drips drop single expanding rings that bend the reflections for a second before fading.
Transit A rain-slick crossroads from a high corner window: head- and taillight trails stream through the junction on the axis with the green while the cross street holds a glowing standing queue, every lamp doubled by a smeared wet-road reflection. An unseen signal cycles, shifting a tiny corner lamp's hue and alternating which axis flows.
Spatter Thrown paint on a dark wall: a dense, clumping field of ragged-edged splats, each flanked by a spray of satellite droplets and trailing a thin drip, in palette hues chosen by position. Splats flare on impact then settle into slow-fading stains so many coexist as built-up texture, clumping heavier off-centre.

Omen

Sigil Branded runes on black iron: two or three angular, hash-generated sigils sit scattered across a near-black field, each at a different stage of cooling. A fresh brand glows near-white, then heat drains down the palette — rose to violet to ember — with thick stroke junctions holding their heat longest, until only a charred trace remains.
Seance A full-frame veil of near-black weave from behind which vague rounded forms press forward — brightening, stretching the cloth's highlights, and gathering a faint palette halo before relaxing back into the dark. Almost a face, almost a hand, then gone.
Tallow A shelf of small candle flames along the lower third — hash-varied teardrop flames with hot pale cores, palette-tinted mantles, and soft breathing halos that pool light on the implied shelf. The deep near-black above is faintly warmed by the gathered glow; at long staggered intervals a flame gutters, snuffs to an ember, sends up a single wavering smoke thread, then slowly relights.
Sprite Upper-atmosphere red sprites over a night horizon: violet-to-rose tendrils flash down from the top edge and branch as they fall, each flash leaving a diffuse glowing head that lingers and slowly fades so the sky is never fully dark.

Trace

Orrery Six faint etched orbit rings centred on the dark field, each carrying one small glowing body trailing a short arc of phosphor smear. Bodies revolve at clock-steady commensurate rates — 8 seconds on the innermost lap, over a minute on the outermost — and when a pair drifts into alignment a hair-thin radial resonance line fades up between them, flares gently at conjunction, and fades away.
Lissajous A single bright phosphor dot traces a Lissajous figure on a near-black oscilloscope screen, trailing a tail of dimmer, wider samples. The frequency ratio drifts on a slow ~60s super-cycle, smearing into a woven knot then snapping into a simple resonance that holds steady before drifting on.
Pendulum A row of glowing pendulum bobs hangs from an implied rail, each swinging on its own exact period with a faint phosphor smear behind it. Graded lengths follow the classic pendulum-wave series, so the row drifts order-to-chaos-to-order on one long seamless loop while bob colours blend across the row like a slow colour ribbon.
Escapement Concentric toothed rings — the wheel train of a pocket watch seen face-on — advance in discrete ticks rather than smooth rotation, faster inner wheels shimmering while the outer turns with slow gravity. At a fixed pallet point on each ring the engaging tooth flares at the instant of the tick, its phosphor afterglow decaying until the next step. The gallery's only strictly stepped, discontinuous tempo.
Radar A bearing/time radar waterfall: the newest return is written along the top edge and the whole record feeds slowly downward like chart paper. Persistent contacts stack into luminous streaks that snake left and right as they descend and cool through the palette, while faint clutter dissolves into grain between hair-thin vertical bearing rulings.
Gimbal Three nested gyroscope rings tumble in implied 3D, each a circle projected to a luminous phosphor ellipse brighter on its near side. Where two rings cross, a glint blooms; the dance closes seamlessly over a long loop.
Clepsydra A water clock rendered in light: a glowing drop detaches from a spout on an exact beat and falls with gravity easing into a faint etched vessel, where a luminous pool flashes a splash ring at each impact and climbs drop by drop — then a smooth siphon draws the level down to nearly empty and the cycle begins again, the drain itself the clock's chime.

Brink

Shore A single quadratic Julia coastline glows between two near-black domains: smooth escape bands hug the boundary and compress into self-similar filigree at every cape and inlet, while a hidden seed creeping along the Mandelbrot cardioid makes the whole frontier writhe into ever-different coastlines.
Snare An orbit-trap Julia set: 40-step iteration grazing a thin rotating cross fills the dark with infinitely nested, warped ghost-images of that single unseen trap. The seed orbits inside the cardioid and the cross slowly turns, so the whole filigree re-inks itself in place — nothing travels, the boundary writhes.
Keel A burning-ship-style abs-folded Julia set: a single glowing coastline creased into keel-lines and rigging-like tendrils, a dark vessel run aground in near-black. A hidden seed sweeps a slow closed arc and the whole wreck continuously rebuilds itself — tendrils extend and dissolve, creases migrate, the boundary becomes a different boundary without ever travelling.
Limn A single line of light: the coastline of a Julia set, located by a derivative-tracked distance estimate and drawn as one unbroken, infinitely wrinkled luminous contour on near-black. A hidden seed orbits, so the whole line continuously re-poses — tendrils extend, bays close, islands pinch off and rejoin — while the palette pours slowly around the figure.
Pinion A Phoenix Julia set whose two-term escape-time recurrence grows ranks of luminous feather-fronds fanning from a dark central body. As a hidden memory coefficient rides a slow circle the plumage preens — barbs curl and release, fronds fork and merge, the fan widens and narrows like a wing.

Delve

Borehole A geological borehole seen straight down from above, plunging to a true-black focal point, off-centre by default and movable. Fine sedimentary bands of faintly glowing rock are sliced from log-radius, scuffed by angular drill-grain, and tinted through the palette by depth; an exponential fog drowns the deep walls in black. The whole stack of strata sinks steadily down the scale axis toward a center it never reaches; the pointer parallax-shifts the near walls for a look-around into the bore.
Oubliette A square masonry shaft seen straight down through a dungeon grate, falling to a black square focus, off-centre by default and movable. Running-bond stone courses are born at the edge and shrink course by course into the dark focus, mortar lines faintly aglow, the overhead grate fixed while the walls pour past it.
Echo A stone well whose echo returns from every wall at once: thin circular wavefronts procession inward at log-spaced stations, but each ring is broken into a shimmering bead-row of arcs by a slowly counter-rotating angular standing wave — the sound scattered off the rough throat, louder from some bearings than others. Rings fill nearly the whole frame, tinted through the palette by depth, fading only at a small off-centre pupil and the extreme corners. The descent and the turning scatter beat against each other into a dense returning chorus, with no visible start or wrap.
Oculus Looking straight up into a coffered dome that climbs toward a small night-black oculus at centre. A log-polar grid of rounded-rectangle coffers, hue migrating ring by ring, rows born at the frame edge and falling upward into the dark focal depth — a continuous scale-travel that never arrives.

Knell

Toll A great bronze drumhead seen dead-on: a circular disc nearly fills the frame, its rim a hairline of edge light. Its vibration is an analytic sum of concentric radial partials with a faint diametral rider; fixed nodal circles stay dark while annular antinode zones tremble with glow, hue keyed by radius across the palette. A hash-scheduled strike floods the modes and they ring down exponentially — the quartered shimmer melts into breathing rings, then the slow fundamental, then a faint residual figure.
Fringe Two unseen exciters pinch a dark glass sheet; their summed standing waves glow in lozenge fringes while hyperbolic nodal curves stay pinned and black. A hash-scheduled strike floods the figure with shimmer, then it rings down toward stillness — nothing travels, only brightness lives and dies.
Timbre A vast tam-tam nearly fills the frame: a hammered bronze disc a half-step above the void. Its brightness is the analytic sum of five fixed inharmonic partials — radial cosines at irrational wavenumber ratios times low-order angular factors at hashed orientations — so the antinode pattern is a mottled shimmer and its zero web an irregular lace of dark lines that never moves within a ring-down. Each partial owns a tint; near-ratio partials beat slowly against one another, regions waxing and waning while nothing travels. A hash-scheduled strike releases the full-spectrum shimmer and the partials decay at different rates, the fine mottle dissolving into the broad slow lobes of the fundamental, with occasional half-strength after-touches re-exciting only the lower partials.

Mercury

Amalgam Two quicksilver pools hang in open darkness, drift to apogee, swing back in a slow magnetic approach, snap together in a hot bloom at the neck, ring with a damped elliptical wobble, then reluctantly pinch apart — one phase-continuous round of fusion and loss.
Solder Four molten beads ride a gently bowed weld seam, summed and smooth-min iso-surfaced so neighbours bulge, neck, and wick into longer liquid slugs. Merges propagate left-to-right down the line like solder drawn by heat, the slug reluctantly re-pinches back into four beads, and the peristaltic round repeats phase-continuously. Bead hue blends from colour 0 at the left to colour 1 at the right with a cool colour-2 sheen on each bead's upper edge.
Gather A dominant mother pool of dark liquid mirror with three small satellite droplets orbiting on slow, individually phased cycles; each drifts in, forms a tether neck, is swallowed with a bright snap as she swells, then is reluctantly shed back out along a new bearing — orbiting matter conserved into and out of one body.
Syzygy Three quicksilver pools in a strict 3:2:1 radius grading hang far apart across a wide, slowly shearing triangle. Built as a summed 2D metaball field iso-surfaced through smooth-min, bodies bulge toward each other, neck, snap into a lopsided peanut, then pinch reluctantly back to distance. Once per grand cycle all three thread into a single elongated body — the full syzygy — before pinching back to three. Each pool owns one palette colour in its rim; fusions blend the hue and flash colour 3.
Mitosis A single dark-liquid cell divides: it necks and snaps into two mirror daughters along one axis, each splitting again along the perpendicular axis into an exact equal-spaced 2x2 quad, then the cascade runs in reverse and all the liquid fuses back to one body — forever, on a palindromic eased phase.
Circlet Five beads of mercury ride a single invisible circular groove, summed and smooth-min iso-surfaced so closeness along the arc makes neighbours neck and wick into longer liquid arcs. Their spacing breathes on incommensurate offsets, so fusions wander around the ring; once per grand cycle all five fuse into one unbroken glowing annulus, then bead apart again. Dark mirror interiors, a doubled rim highlight on the outer edge, hue circulating by angle, and a colour-3 spark at every neck snap.

Plinth

Torii A processional avenue of gates running dead away from the eye: a single torii SDF (two round pillars, a long gently curved lintel, a lower tie-beam) repeated down the view axis by domain mod, each instance hash-leaned and hash-scaled a few percent off true. Dozens nest in one-point perspective, the nearest a huge near-black frame and the farthest dissolving into fog; the underside of every lintel catches a faint warm lantern rim while a thin ankle mist breathes between the pillars. The camera dollies forward forever down the centerline - only the eye moves.
Rotunda The inside of a ruined circular temple: a ring of raymarched cylinder columns, some snapped to stumps, surrounds a low central altar with a single warm ember. The eye orbits slowly inside the ring so near columns process leftward as solid black bars while the far picket counter-drifts rightward through breathing fog.
Cairn A moor of balanced stone cairns — stacks of flattened rounded boulders, each teetering on the one below — recedes into luminous haze. Raymarched as true 3D solids so nearer stacks occlude farther ones, with exponential distance fog, a colour-2 rim where each silhouette meets the brighter haze behind it, and a sparse moss-vein of colour 3 on a hash-chosen few crowns. The camera dollies forward down a sinuous lane threaded between the cairns; the world holds perfectly still.

Smolder

Fuse The traveling fuse-spark mapped onto a circuit board: a lattice of faint copper traces and solder pads fills the frame, and white-hot charge pulses race along the rows and columns at their own speeds and directions, each ringed by a warm-to-cool halo, throwing spark flecks and dragging a glowing cooling trail that lights the traces behind it. The pulses light pads as they pass; staggered phases keep current flowing somewhere always.
Pothos A pothos (Epipremnum aureum) trailing down the frame: many small heart-shaped leaves strung along several wandering vines, each leaf carrying a cool glowing midrib with herringbone veins, a warm glowing margin, and pale cream variegation. The vines hang and sway on a slow wind and the luminous leaves overlap into a lush curtain. Everything themes from the palette — foliage, veins, margin and variegation alike.
Peat A cross-section of dark ground with faint soil strata; a buried seam smoulders from within, its travelling front never seen directly — read only as stitched threads of ember light leaking up through vertical fissures, graded warm-to-cool as it climbs and dies just short of the surface.
Incense Two or three hair-thin incense sticks stand at staggered heights in a near-black room, each tipped with a tiny incandescent ember that creeps strictly downward over minutes; dead ash lengthens above it while a thin smoke filament rises and fades, and an occasional spark pops off the glowing cap.
Stubble A harvested field at night seen from straight above: parallel windrows of stubble cross the frame on a shallow diagonal while an unseen burn line advances across them. The glow is gated hard by the fuel, so the fire reads as a chain of discrete point-fires catching one row after another — each igniting with a prominent flare, then guttering into a graded ember bead with row-aligned cooling sparks. Staggered burn fields crossfade unseen, so the relay never pauses or retreats.

Sough

Brae A near-black hillside climbs diagonally under a thin moonglow band, its crest a dense fringe of grass-blade silhouettes. Episodic gust fronts ripple along the edge as a traveling seam of rim-light - tips bow into the glow, overshoot, and ring back to dark, leaving the crest a still torn-paper silhouette between gusts.
Awn A glowing sea of wheat: many ranks of awned stalks recede from the horizon down to the foreground, each a slender curved stroke topped by a fine fuzzy bristle-fan seed-head. Invisible gust fronts sweep across as travelling waves of bow-and-spring-back, pouring iridescent palette light into the heads and bristles in proportion to flex, so a luminous ripple runs through the field under a faint dusk horizon.
Rush A rank of cattail rushes silhouetted against a glowing dusk sky along a waterline, with a low sun on the horizon — and below, a prominent rippling reflection of the whole scene: the reflected dusk sky, a shimmering sun-glitter column, and the dark mirrored reeds wavering on the water. A gust front crosses the bed stem by stem, each rush bowing and overshooting with glow gathering on its downwind edge, the reflection echoing every gesture a beat late.
Panicle A stand of pampas plumes at close range — tall curved stems carrying feathery FBM-streaked heads in varied palette hues, glowing vividly with a fine seed-fluff drifting up and downwind through the air around them. When a gust combs through, streaks of light run lengthwise to the feathered fringe while the heads stream downwind and the stems bow late with a soft overshoot, the floating fluff shimmering between fronts.
Culm A grove of round, cylinder-shaded bamboo canes in three depth-layered rows that recede and haze into the frame, each cane lit with a specular stripe and dark turning edges for real volume and divided by crisp swollen node rings. A calm, continuous wind travels through the grove as a smooth wave — the canes lean and breathe without ever freezing — while light runs steadily up each cane, a sparkle of node glints climbing joint by joint to the leafy tip.
Kelp A kelp forest deep underwater: wide cylinder-shaded ribbon blades rise in depth-layered ranks from an uneven seafloor, rounded and translucent with curling bent-over tips and float bulbs, through a blue-teal depth gradient lit by crepuscular god-rays, caustic shimmer and rising bubbles. When a surge front rolls across the stand the downstream edges light, a rim of glow climbing each blade from deep-blue roots to pale tips.
Chaff A lush field of grass fills the lower frame in receding depth ranks, leaning strokes combed downwind as travelling gust fronts ripple across and light their tips. Each front shakes a drift of glowing chaff motes loose from the grass that lift, stream downwind on shallow ballistic arcs, tumble and fade — dust blowing through the field rather than floating on black. Every mote's position is a pure function of the shared gust schedule and a per-mote hash, so the field is stateless and seamlessly looping; motes blend their hue through all four palette colours.

Umbra

Threshold An unlit room read in negative: the only light is a thin blazing strip under a door, feathering up the floor in honest penumbra. At hash-scheduled intervals a passer-by crosses the lit hallway, two soft footstep lobes dimming and splitting the spill.
Casement A casement window's light thrown across an interior wall: one large bright trapezoid divided by the dark cross of mullion bars into four panes, sheared by projection from a light moving outside. As the source flattens the trapezoid leans and elongates toward a corner, the mullion shadows broaden and their penumbrae melt, then sharpen as it passes head-on — a leading rim of light tracing the edge it lands on first. The whole show is read in negative, looping with no visible reset through a grazing sliver.
